A Confident Leader Who Listens
- Organized
- Patient
- Easy To Talk To
- Open To Change
Our staff is truly amazing. They have the knowledge, skill and patience to care for people who are challenged by dementia. They have the energy and systems to do it every day. Plus, they have that special something that comes from deep inside oneself, the combination of drive, compassion and courage that allows them to "cheerfully" assist someone who's memory is flickering and/or fading...even when their own heart is breaking.
Maria is a gentle "leader". She uses compassion and respect to motivate those in her charge. Her years of experience in assisted living enable her to understand that the residents and staff members really need her support if they are to continually deal with the conflicting worlds that dementia creates. Maria is originally from Budapest (Hungry) and is a bit self-conscious of her accent...which others think is just lovely.
Sandra is a soft-spoken, kind person with a passion for keeping seniors as vibrant as possible. She has a teaching background (4th grade), which she uses to educate, stimulate and motivate our residents. And she has a genuine love of seniors, which she attributes to her parents (who came from the islands of Belize & Corozal) and their friends. Watching Sandra at work, you see the masterful blending of motion and patience.
Deanna was born to care for others. She was a Candy Striper in high school and took care of her Mom when she had breast cancer. She then attended nursing school, followed by clinical training at UCLA hospital. At Autumn Years, she is the backbone of our care planning, medication management and hospice programs. If you want to know anything about our residents and their families, she is the one to talk to.
