
Sometimes dementia makes a person very agitated. I have found that if I leave them alone for a few minutes (yet keep a watchful eye), the agitation often subsides. When I go back, I may offer something, like ice cream. However, it is not always needed. Either way, we accomplish what the person was resisting at the start - taking a shower, change clothes, etc.
